Longfin Batfish

Platax teira
About the species

Recognised by its very tall dorsal and anal fins and a dark blotch below the pectoral, this graceful silver disc often forms calm aggregations around wrecks and mooring lines. Juveniles trail extravagantly long fins, while adults drift placidly past hovering divers.
