About this site

On the exposed outer side of Shaab El Erg near the lighthouse, Manta Point is a sloping plateau where plankton blooms occasionally draw in reef manta rays during the cooler months. Turtles, moray eels and the odd reef shark patrol the reef edge, and currents here can pick up to give a pleasant drift. It is an intermediate dive rewarding patient observers.
