A Red Sea endemic fusilier, streamlined and blue-bodied with a yellow-and-black tail, forming fast-moving plankton-feeding schools in open water above reefs. Thousands flow past in glittering rivers, an important prey base for jacks and reef predators. Their constant motion brings life to drop-offs and channels.
