About this site

Shadwan (Shaker) Island, the largest island in the Egyptian Red Sea, sits at the mouth of the Gulf of Suez north of Hurghada and offers exposed, current-swept reef walls and drifts visited mainly by liveaboards and longer day trips. Strong nutrient-rich currents draw large schools of fish, trevally, barracuda and frequent pelagics, including sharks. Its remoteness and conditions make it an advanced site rewarding experienced drift divers.
