Offshore reef plateau with ergs and pelagic action
Sha'ab Marsa Alam is an offshore reef complex of plateaus and coral pinnacles (ergs) lying out from the town, offering varied drift and pinnacle dives. The reef tops teem with anthias and reef fish, while the deeper edges draw barracuda, trevally and the occasional reef shark. Conditions range from gentle plateau dives to currenty walls suited to more experienced divers.
