About the species

A handsome hornless unicornfish with a yellow forehead band, black face mask and two vivid orange tail blades set in orange sockets. It grazes brown leafy algae on reef slopes, often in pairs. Its bold facial markings make it instantly recognisable on Egyptian reefs.
