About this site

The Giannis D is one of the Red Sea's most photographed wrecks, a Greek cargo ship that struck Abu Nuhas reef in 1983 and broke into three sections that now lie at dramatic angles from 5 to 27 metres. The intact, tilted stern with its engine room and masts is the highlight, encrusted in coral and patrolled by glassfish and lionfish. Penetration of the engine room is for trained wreck divers only.
