The legendary deep cargo wreck of Big Brother
The SS Numidia, a 137-metre British cargo steamer, sank in 1901 after striking the northern tip of Big Brother and now lies almost vertically along the steep reef wall, her bow at around 8 metres and her stern plunging beyond 80 metres. The hull is festooned with vivid soft corals and swarming with anthias, snappers and pelagics, making it one of the Red Sea's most atmospheric wreck dives. Strong current and great depth make this a serious dive reserved for experienced divers.
