About this site

The Aida II, a 75-metre Egyptian naval supply and lighthouse-tender vessel, sank in 1957 while attempting to land troops at Big Brother and now rests on the steep eastern reef. The wreck slopes from about 30 metres at the bow down past 60 metres, with the most intact and photogenic section in deeper water adorned with soft corals and glassfish. Strong currents and depth restrict this to experienced divers, often combined with a drift along the island wall.
