About this site

Umm Gamar (Mother of the Moon) is a crescent-shaped island topped by a lighthouse, about 30-40 minutes north of Hurghada. The east side is a classic wall dive dropping from a 14 m reef shelf into a steep slope, while the south end features three pinnacles and an erg around 22 m on a sandy plateau. Expect groupers, morays, glassfish, occasional reef sharks on the deep wall and turtles along the shallows.
