A gentle, slow-moving marine herbivore that grazes seagrass meadows, leaving distinctive feeding trails. In Egypt they are reliably seen at Marsa Abu Dabbab and Marsa Mubarak near Marsa Alam. Easily stressed by boats and divers, this rare sirenian needs space and quiet to keep feeding.
