About this site

A British steam-and-sail vessel that sank in 1876 on Beacon Rock at the southern edge of the Sha'ab Mahmoud / Sha'ab Ali area, lying upside down and broken in two from 18 to 30 m. Divers can swim through the upturned hull and engine room amid dense glassfish, then explore the boiler and bent propeller shaft. Stonefish, scorpionfish and a healthy coral-covered exterior round out a relaxed, atmospheric wreck dive.
