About this site

A British steam-and-sail cargo ship that struck Gubal Seghir reef in 1887, making her one of the oldest wrecks in the Red Sea. She lies on her port side from 5 to 28 m, the wooden decking long gone to reveal an iron skeleton draped in soft corals and home to glassfish and nudibranchs. Telegraph cable on spools and her age give this rarely-crowded wreck a serene, historic feel.
