Vast shallow reef system sheltering the Thistlegorm
An extensive shallow reef and lagoon system on the western side of the Strait of Gubal, best known as the reef the Thistlegorm was anchored beside when she was bombed. Its sheltered coral gardens, ergs and sandy patches make easy, scenic dives rich in reef fish, anthias and the occasional turtle. Many liveaboards use its protected anchorages as overnight stops between the wrecks.
